Monday Misprices for the CJ Cup-2021

The Top Draftkings Value Plays of the Week
By Joe Thomas aka Blatant_Chief
---
Week 1 in the Vegas desert ended with a rather contrarian Sungjae Im hoisting the hardware at the Shriners Open. We had quite a solid week here our picks, including Wolff (T2), SICKO SPECIAL (and now our Canadian Cousin)  Adam Hadwin (T6), THE WISE MAN (T8), and LE GOOCH (T11).
Week 2 heads to a relatively unknown, big-money course, aptly called The Summit Club. It's a Par 72 Tom Fazio design rounding out a shade under 7,500 yards, with bermuda rough and fairways, along with bentgrass greens. One of our favorite guys, THE KOKRAKEN, was victorious last year at nearby Shadow Creek from which some comps can be drawn. Cousin Mav and Morikawa are both members here, but outside of that we will have to delve deep for intel this week.
Being that we are dealing with a small invitational field, in a no-cut event, this preview will be relatively short. However, there are still several Draftkings value plays down the board that pique my interest...

Top Values Under $8K:
*Late Monday Update: The JRose Sub $8K Law has been enacted...
Aaron "The Wise" Man-$7,400-the first of our three top values that we will stay on this week after riding last week. He was near the top of the leaderboard most of the week, finishing a more than respectable T8 at the Shriners. For the guy with oodles of experience in the desert, and Vegas specifically, we can't leave the table now. He also seemed to have an affinity for two other top-tier courses designed by Fazio in Quail Hollow and Caves Valley. Therefore we go all-in (barf, I know) with the former Oregon standout, and current ball-striking aficionado looking at another impending birdie fest this week.
---
Cousin Mav McNealy-$7,300-Cousin Mav missed the cut on the number last week in an absurdly low-scoring first two days, so I'm not overly concerned. We went over his relationship to Uncle Butchie as he is now stationed in Sin City most of the time, both training and living with LPGA star and significant other, Danielle Kang. We saw how low he can go after nearly claiming his maiden victory only a few weeks back at The Fortinet in Napa, oh and he's one of two members at the Summit Club  in the field  (the other being reigning Champion Golfer of the Year, the aforementioned Collin Morikawa), so his intimate course knowledge should give him an edge like it did for THE KOKRAKEN last year at Shadow Creek.
---
Talor Le Gooch-$7,200-The Goochmeister cannot be faded coming off a T11. The stat metrics are through the roof on the OK kid, especially in bentgrass birdie bonanzas. Admittedly I was off him for much for this year, but his continued strong play has me a believer. This is a big-boy event however, so he's really going to have to take his game to the next level to be in lurk position come Sunday. Being that he was Top 5 both in tee-to-green and approaching the green at the Shriners, now may be his best shot to date.
---
SICKO SPECIALS Under $7K:
Jhonny Vegas-$6,300-the name goes without saying, but here's some more nuggets to chew on: he rips apart Par 5s (four of them here), he's got six T20s (including a troika of T10s, two of which were runner-ups) over the last five months, he plays well at no cut events, and he excels at Tom Fazio tracks. I could go on, but I think we have enough here for a heavy peppering, if not a full out HAMMERMENT.
---
Bobby Streb-$6,100-maybe my sickest call of last week (or month). I had a revelation after talking to our buddy Rob on the Jerzway livestream that old Streb Throat has a uniquely high apex ball-flight, similar to that of Jason Day, and thus the high-altitude climate of the desert should increase his ball-striking accuracy exponentially. Much like when power players like DJ, Bryson, or Uncle Tony are licking their chops at drivable Par 4s. Streb's from Oklahoma like Gooch, and went to Kansas State, so he's obviously comfortable in the Western sandy biosphere (too much Earth Science? Ugh fine). Whatever the case, he finished T27 last week after hanging out near top of the leaderboard much of the earlier half of the tournament, and for this cheap of a price, with no missed cut to worry about, fire away once more.
Other cheap plays I like: Hoge, Davis, Grace, and the SWAFF.
